Giving to St. Mary’s
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test m in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the
floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room
enough to store it."
( Malachi 3:10 NIV )
St. Mary’s church is funded by the generous donations of its friends and members and, although the Church of England has many historic assets, our church today relies on the income it receives now in order to continue its ministry, which includes paying for the clergy and their housing and pensions, in addition to the day-to-day running costs of maintaining the building. In 2023, St. Mary's expenditure exceeded its income by £2,000, and this year its expenditure is set to increase again, not least because of the increased cost of gas and electric.
There are many ways of giving to the church other than during church services on a Sunday. The best way to give is through a regular standing order and, if you are a taxpayer then, by simply signing a form we are able to reclaim the tax that you pay on your donation through Gift Aid. You may also consider leaving a gift to St. Mary’s in your will. Everyone’s gift is strictly confidential.
Please, prayerfully consider if you are able to make a donation, no matter how big or small, and it would be much appreciated.
In the first instance, please CONTACT the Rev. David Stevenson for more details of how you can help.
